#437 Plaid

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to our first challenge for December!  Our theme over the next 2 weeks is a bit of tangent one...we'd like to see plaid on your project.

We know that for Christmas, there is a lot of buffalo plaid going on  right now, but any kind of plaid would work.  It could be ribbon, your DP, an embellishment, whatever works for you!

Check out what the DT has created for you!

Helen here with my plaid inspiration card.  I love plaid and gingham papers so this was the perfect challenge for me!

I used some plaid paper I've had in my stash for a few years combined with kraft and green card and a simple punched tree and stamped sentiment.

For my project, I used plaid paper to highlight a favorite picture I took of my husband, daughter, and dog on Christmas Day.

#436 Thanksgiving/Grateful

Thanksgiving will soon be approaching for our friends in the USA (in Canada we celebrate in October), so our theme this go round is to create a project highlighting thanksgiving or being grateful!

Be sure to link up below and check out all these great projects from our DT!

Gail

Heather R

I didn't necessarily go the traditional route as far as Thanksgiving goes, but I am truly grateful for the man I married and the life we share...

Helen

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK so instead I decided to celebrate gratefulness for friendship instead.

This week before the pen in my A5 Wide planner is all about Thanksgiving since I am hosting at my house.

#435 Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Good Morning one and all!  We have a really fun challenge for you this week!  Let's play Tic Tac Toe!  If you are not familiar with this challenge, all you have to do is incorporate one line or column of suggestions into your project!  For example, you may want to use that first row of shades of blue, die cut and rhinestone!  If you really want to challenge yourself, try to use two lines/columns, the 4 corners and centre or even a blackout which is all the elements!  We can't wait to see what you create!

For my tic tac toe challenge, I did the top horizontal row.  I decided to feature my daughter wearing her soccer jersey with blue lettering, soccer balls and a star die cut to highlight the soccer theme of the page, and a few rhinestones to give the project a punch.

Amanda
For mine I did the first vertical line. My son was invited to a birthday party so it was the perfect opportunity to make a card using a shade of blue, a masculine theme and some simple stamping!

I chose the right hand column. I fussy cut the nastursiums then added rhinestone centres.

*** the inlinkz site is down at time of posting so please link up in the comments, for now until we get the link up and running.  Thanks for your patience! **

#434 - Hallowe'en or Pumpkins

Hey everyone!  Welcome to another fun challenge with us at Use Your Stuff.   Our theme for the next 2 weeks is Halloween or pumpkins!  This should be an easy one for you!

Let's check out what the DT has created!

Gail

A Halloween/Birthday card for a friend.

Helen

I've made a pumpkin themed 'thank you' card using a stamp set from The Card Hut and some Stampin' Up patterned paper which I've had for a long time!

Amanda

This is a page I am finally getting to scrapping from my son's first Halloween!

#433 A Double Trouble Collaboration

Hey everyone!  As you can see we are a week early with our next challenge!  That's because we are happy to be collaborating once again with Double Trouble Challenges!

Our theme for this challenge which will run from October 4th (a  week early) until October 23rd...is AUTUMN/FALL~!

The Double Trouble Challenge is below!

If you are playing along with our challenge, be sure to play along with the one over on the Double Trouble blog as well!

Here are some great projects from the DT :

Dawn

Helen

Tammy

Doreen

I do LOVE Fall...
As is evident by the Jack-O-Lantern scarf I'm wearing in my 6x8 Traditional Paper Layout- and nope I couldn't wait until October to start wearing it; Sept 27th, so close!

Stephanie

For my project, I decided to feature one of my favorite Halloween pictures of my daughter posing with her carved pumpkins.  As an added bonus, I used a spider web as my "fall garland."

For this challenge, I used my monthly overview page to do a fall spread with all things orange, pumpkin spice and warm fuzzies.

We can't wait to see what you create for your own project!  Thanks for stopping by everyone and happy crafting!

#432 Retro

Hey everyone!  We are taking a walk through the past for this new challenge.  Our theme is Retro.  Now if you are unfamiliar, retro means imitative of a style, fashion, or design from the recent past.  Maybe for you, retro is out of the 60s or maybe its the 80s. It could be a pattern, it could be a theme etc.   This is a pretty broad challenge and we can't wait to see what you do with it!

Check out these cool projects from the DT!

Gail

So technically my layout isn't retro...yet!
But it will be someday! LOL
I was inspired by the music themed art to create this
12x12 Traditional Paper layout about my current character obsession:
Ned from the Twenty-One Pilots "Chlorine" video.
Isn't he cute?!
I used a really old 12x12 PP, a really old sticker border and a few other old-ish
items from my stash

Read more about my layout and my process on my blog.
You can also watch the "Chlorine" video and see Ned in action! :)

We visited a retro store while on holidays.

Helen

For me retro means going back to the 1980s when I was a teenager.  Cassette tapes were seen as really modern then and the ultimate tape was a mix tape.  I've used a stamp from Visible Image plus some retro style backing paper to make my card - I still love listening to the songs from 1982!
