#398 Patterns

Image result for patterns

Are you ready for this week's challenge?  It's a fun one and totally unique to you!  Our challenge is to use PATTERNS on your project...It could be your paper, how you use your embellishments,  or a pattern in your paper or design.  It is pretty open to interpretation and this is how the DT has figured it out for them!

Our challenge runs from May 18th to May 30th.
Feel free to enter as many times as you wish, as long as you link back with each entry.

I love Patterned Papers and am trying to get through my stash of them without buying
more! As someone who has recently fallen in love w/ Pocket Pages, I have decided to use PPs, cut as cards, to to fit into my pockets. I also carried the same paper over to the top card and cut it in half-circle embellishments to pull more of the pattern into the page:

A good way to use up scraps of patterned paper on a card.

I rarely use patterned papers, so this week had me thinking,  I was able to incorporate patterned sticker paper into my planner spread for this week.  After it was complete, I really loved this layout.  I will have to incorporate patterns more often.

#397 Flowers and/or Butterflies

Image result for flowers and butterflies
Happy Monday!  Ready for this challenge!  I keeping with all things spring, our challenge is to use flowers and/or butterflies on your projects.  You can use one or the other or a combination of both!  The choice is yours and we can't wait to see what you picked!  Check out what the DT has for you!

This challenge runs from May 4th until May 16th!

For this challenge I chose flowers.
I used a BG paper w/ flowers to highlight this photo of me and our Mini-Potbelly Pig,
Hamlet, cuddling (12x12 Traditional):

I couldn't decide so I did one of each. One card for my mom
and one for my mother in law for Mother's Day.

#396 Mood Board

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday, I hope that you are keeping calm and trying to get some creating in during these times!  I know our team is.

On that note, we have a fun mood board challenge for you!

Some great pastels, ovals, bunnies & eggs, flowers and pennants!  So many things to draw from.  We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Don't forget to link back to us....

The challenge will run from Monday April 20th until Saturday May 2nd.  Don't forget to link below!

Here's my card. I was inspired by the mason jar, flowers and kraft colour of the banner.

I was inspired by the circles on the hats and macroons plus the pastel yellow on the pennant.

Well, the Mood Board pretty much screamed "Easter" to me, and though we just had an Easter challenge, I just went w/ it anyway...

I found inspiration from the board by using the color palette.  I loved the muted versions of some of my favorite colors.  I used those colors to make a card to send to a friend during the shelter in place.

I was inspired by the purples, the banner, the ribbon on the hats and the overall Easter theme.

I don't celebrate Easter but this (6x12) Carrot Cake pocket page layout is pretty Easter-y
especially with the cute googly-eyed bunny sticker:

This was my son's first Easter, back in 2013.

#394 Spring

Has it happened where you are??? Are the signs of spring there?  We want to see them in your projects for this challenge....

Our theme is SPRING!

Create a project with a spring theme....Maybe it's colors, maybe it's flowers, maybe it's a spring event that you like to us..tell us about it!

Here's what the DT has created for you to show how they see spring!

Spring is in the air!

During Spring, Sees Candies brings out
these YUMMY flavors of lollipops: Strawberries and Cream and Oranges and Cream
2 page Travelers Notebook layout

I did a LO using photos from Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival...nobody does SPRING like Disney!

I have a fascination with Peeps right now.  They are so cute, but we rarely eat them.  I made a Spring card using a Peeps cut file.

Spring always makes me think of flowers!

Don't forget to link up by Saturday March 28th at 6pm MST.  Enter as many times as you like, but no back linking and be sure to link back to our challenge.

Happy Creating!

#393 - Use Your Favorite Embellishment

Like the title says, this week's challenge is to USE YOUR FAVORITE EMBELLISHMENT.

Image result for embellishments
That one item that is your go to and just can't have enough of in your stash.....let's see it!

Check out the DT's favourites below!

I always like using brads. On this layout I scattered them to create more background interest.

Mine is Patterned Paper!  Is so much fun to mix and match it, cut it up, or fussy cut it,
layer it, frame with it, it's the best thing and you can never have too much of it imo.

I love banners!  I love premade ones like the ones draping my picture.  I love ones that accent the top of the page that are simply strips of paper.  I think banners add a fun little oomph to a layout.

This challenge closes at 6pm MST on March 14th!  Enter as many times as you like but be sure to link back to our challenge please!&nbsp

#392 Circles

Hey everyone!  New challenge day..woohooo!!!

This challenge's theme is CIRCLES!
Related image

For your project please add some circles! It could be in some of your embellishments, the shape of your project, some die's totally up to you!  Here's what the ladies have created to share with you today.

Space...the final frontier...

Circles are my favorite shape in general and favorite shape for scrapbooking.
I always like to either add a circle (or polka dot) PP, photo mat, or embellishment(s).
On my layout I used a colorful circle PP for the BG and a medium-sized circle photo mat to highlight my bottom photo. I also used a small circle punch to punch out a clown face from a clown PP.

Be sure to link up below and this challenge will end on Feb 29th.  Have fun and happy creating!

#391 Critters and a Double Trouble Collaboration

Hey Everyone!  Thank you so much for the warm feedback regarding the change in our challenges.  We are so happy that this new 2 week format works so well with so many of you.

On to this weeks challenge!  Our theme for you this week in honor of Groundhog Day on the 2nd is to create a project that has could be something that highlights a pet, or a stamped image with some animals on it, maybe it's the PP that you use with those birds, ducks, moose!  Whatever tickles your fancy!

Now for an added twist, we are partnering in this challenge with Double Trouble Challenges!

Double Trouble Paper Crafting

You want to make sure to head over to their blog as well and incorporate their challenge themes into your project for a chance to win...just click on this link .

The DT has been hard at work and look what they did!

My layout is a 12x12 Traditional that includes the first photo I took this year:
a photo of my Central Texas Pig Rescue calendar.
CTPR is a Pig Rescue I follow on Instagram and donate to each month.
Look at that cute piggy; her name is Bernadette.

For the Double Trouble Challenge I did Challenge #1/Repeated Element
I repeated 3 small circles around my layout to make a visual triangle.
And true to the "Use Your Stuff" challenge - Items on here range from over 18 years old to less than a month old!

For this project, I featured one of my favorite critters; my dog Penny in her sweaters that my daughter knitted her.  Needless to say, Penny is NOT a fan of the winter.

My layout is of my Buddy :) my favorite critter. Using an older paper pad I got years ago in a swap for my layout of Buddy

My critter is this little felt lamb in my stash forever!

My layout features a cute cuddly critter - the Easter bunny!

When we were in Canada 5 years ago I saw this moose head on the wall so had some fun.
I misted through a stencil to get the sunburst effect.
