Challenge 376: Upcycle/Recycle

Hey Everyone!  We are in week 2 still of our Double Trouble collaboration!  Be sure to check out all the details here, to get in on both challenges!

In the meantime, if you are looking for a new challenge this week, our theme is UPCYCLE/RECYCLE.  We would like to see something on your project that was initially used for something else. It could be some wrapping, some twine, packaging, old washers, it's endless!
Look what the DT has to inspire you this week!

I was inspired by the packaging from a Chick-Fil-A gift card.  I trimmed around the cardboard and made a tag out of it as part of my project's title.

                                                                         Julene
The grey and white card is a recycled ticket folder for our Canada coach trip.
It became the mat for 2 photos. I also added a small scrap of pastel card from packaging I had.

Tammy
I used a piece of a burlap bag to create a big focal of my layout.

Doreen here ::waves::
Okay, I'll admit I'm not a Monday person but, having a fun new challenge to motivate helps make it just a bit better, amirite?!

Today we challenge you to use your tags and/or frames.

Also we are Teaming up w/ the Double Trouble blog.

Double Trouble Paper Crafting

Their challenge is to include plaid on your project.
Click on the link to take you to their blog:
To help motivate you, here are some examples from me and the rest of the Use Your Stuff Team:

Doreen
2-page Travelers Notebook spread
Turns out I dont have any frames in my
stash so I went with tags.
I used 1 whole tag and the top of another.
I also included "something plaid"; the BG paper.
BTW -  it's older than my daughter, who will be 18 in January.

Here's my outdoorsy card.

Amanda

In Canada red/black plaid is like it's own color! It fit very well with this camping themed layout!

Challenge #374: Mood Board Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's Monday Monday!  **insert ABBA song here**  :)   It's challenge day!  It's a fun mood board challenge this week! Lot's of soothing colors, some neat icons and textures.   We really love these ones as it is so neat to see what each individual takes away from the board to incorporate into their projects!  Here is this week's board!

The DT has some projects to get you started!

I featured a picture of my daughter and I a few years ago at one of our favorite pumpkin patches having our favorite fall treat; the caramel apple.

Julene
I visited a cafe in a chemistry building at Christchurch University. All the containers were based around chemistry items.

Amanda
Two years ago my husband and I visited Disney for the first time for both of us. This is a close up of us waiting on our first ride (Ariel). The photo ended up being a bit blurry as it was darker in there but I couldn't resist scrapping it anyway to commemorate the moment!

Card maker here, I went with that cute chocolate lab that grabbed my heart for inspiration as well as the warm soothing browns.

Now it's your turn!  Link up below so we can see what inspires you this week!

Back to School

Hi everyone I'm the newbie.
My name is Julene and I'm from Sydney Australia.

Your theme or challenge for this week is BACK TO SCHOOL
It can be interpreted however you like so long as it is based on that theme.

As a school teacher, I have many layouts on this theme.
I've chosen to make one of my 2 nephews at Presentation Day at the end of the year where they both won awards.
The alphabet paper was perfect for this layout.

Now let's see what inspires you!

Wouldn't you LOVE to go to Hogwarts School of Magic?

Amanda

My little man will be starting Grade 2 this year but I was inspired to scrap his
Kindergarten school photo for the theme this week!

Doreen
No "Back To School" photos for me!
Instead, I was inspired to create a 2-page Traveler's Notebook spread
of this photo of my girls hanging out in the front yard on a
bright, sunny August day. It was on the 24th
so almost the end of August, right before going back to school!

My youngest just started Kindergarten.  He tends to be quite the character these days when we try to take a picture of him and his Kindergarten Open House was no different...

We have only college aged children in our house and neither is cooperative with first day of school pictures.  So I decided to document my own first day of class in photography school.
