Challenge #341 - Christmas/Holidays

Good Morning and welcome to this week's challenge of Christmas/Holidays.

Such a broad subject for a challenge as you can go many different ways with this challenge. Christmas to me is about being with family and friends and then there is the shopping thing that happens too :)

Christmas is also time to send and receive Christmas Cards ......

Just a couple of the many cards I created this year to send out

I have additional photos of cards I made over on my blog. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Let's see what my fellow design team members did with this challenge.

I wanted a wreath for my doorway but wasn't liking any I saw in stores.
Raid the scrappy stash and voila! (2 sided even!)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Chris
The past few years we have had a much smaller tree but I love it!

Amanda

I send a ton of Christmas cards each year and usually only make a few of each design. This particular one I made for some of my staff members at work.

This was one of several pictures I took of my girls almost twelve years ago trying to get the perfect Christmas card shot.  My youngest would not stop giving me her cheesiest smile.  I decided this pic along with some Doodlebug paper would be the perfect holiday scrapbook layout.

Beth

Every year my husband makes a lot of fudge and I make a lot of fudge boxes.  Please head over to my blog to see several styles of fudge boxes for Christmas gift giving.

**Sorry, we had an issue with the linky!.  If you created a card on Monday feel free to link it up on Tuesday**

#340 - Inspired by a book HIGHLIGHTS

Happy Sunday!
Just wanted to share a few highlights from the book challenge this week...
thanks to all who played along :)

I love this layout done by Julene and I must admit,
seeing the Anne house is definitely on my bucket list as well...

The sweet simplicity of this card by Arlene really drew me in...
I love how soft and pretty it is...

And then at the same time, I love all of the detailing that went into this card by Alicia...and quite honestly, I have a soft spot for the big guy in red ;)

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for our next challenge and to see what the Design Team comes up with to inspire you! Have a great week!

Challenge #340 - Inspired by a Book

Happy Monday and Happy Scrapping!  Heather R here...and this week we want to see your projects inspired by a book :)

"There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island"  – Walt Disney

Given that the Christmas season is upon us, my layout has been inspired by the classic "Twas the Night Before Christmas"  (I have an additional layout on my blog inspired by a series of books as well)

You can check out what the rest of the Design Team was inspired by and we can't wait to see what inspires you guys as well!

Gail

Mine is inspired by "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"The Knight Bus appears in this book for the first time.

I was inspired by the book "Twas the Night Before Christmas". I used a line
from the book for my title: "...a long winters nap"

(inspired by Dr. Seuss)

I was inspired by this old Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer book to create my Christmas card:

Amanda
I was inspired by the book "Claude the Dog - A Christmas Story" to create this card!

#339 Silver and Gold Highlights

Once again, thank you to all who participated in the Silver and Gold Challenge.  All of the submissions were absolutely stunning.  It's always exciting to see how our followers interpret the challenge.  These three certainly caught my eye!

I loved the gold embossed background with all the Christmas symbols.  It reminded me of a door at a majestic European cathedral.  The blue poinsettias with the gold leaves were the perfect touch.

This project absolutely took my breath away.  Whoever is the lucky recipient of this birthday card can easily put this on the wall as a one of a kind piece of art.  I loved the subtle gold glitter throughout the background and the delicate silver butterfly cut-outs.

And finally, this project exemplified to me everything that I love about Christmas.  The gorgeous gold poinsettias embossed on the black paper along with the vintage candle reminded me of Christmases of long ago.  Simply stunning.

Once again, thank you again for taking time during your busy holiday season to play along with us at Use Your Stuff.  Make sure to continue to check out our blog and play along with our challenges.

Challenge #339: Silver and Gold

Welcome to another challenge at Use Your Stuff.  In honor of the classic Christmas carol "Silver and Gold," Design Team A created projects that included silver and gold papers or embellishments.  We are looking forward to see what you all create!

When I think of silver and gold at this time of year, I think of snowflakes.  So I decided to feature pictures of my girls playing in the snow when they were tiny with silver and gold embellishments surrounding their pictures.

Chris

I used lots of gold for my layout.

Majo

When I pulled out my decorations and saw how tarnished and faded my silver and gold balls looked I decided to give them a facelift, with some old bling and ribbons, stickles and Prima glass glitter
