Challenge #216 - Pop Dots

Hello! This is Amanda with this week's challenge!

One of the things I have but frequently forget to use are Pop Dots - you know, those little foam squares or circles used to make an item stand out from your project! They are a great way to add dimension to your project! For my project I did a very simple design for a Christmas card using a sketch. I am trying to get ahead for next year! I used a very small pop dot under each star to give them some dimension!

Take a look at what the design team came up with!

I loved this challenge of using pop dots...of my favourite items from my stash to use. In this 'Life' layout I have scrap lifted the hexagon idea from an online site I saw recently, using mixed media elements to create the background and to incorporate the photo. I have raised some of the hexagons with pop dots as well as the quote next to the title. For more details, please check out my blog at www.myscrappingspace.wordpress.com

What a great challenge to inspire us to Use Your Stuff!  Pop dots can add such a nice change to your projects.  I jut love the dimension it gives.  I tried to keep it simple this week... with a CAS card using Heartfelt Creations Fiddle'n Frog stamps.  Please stop by my blog to see all the details.

Challenge # 215 - Inspired by a Quote

Hello All! Tammy here with this week's challenge.  Spring is almost upon us..the season of new beginnings, fresh happenings and yes, a time to be excited and inspired!

My challenge for you this week is to create a project inspired by a quote!  You don't have to put the quote on your project but you do need to let us know what it is! :)

I don't exactly have a project for you this week myself.  Over the weekend of March 19/20 I attended Crop & Create along with some of the amazingly talented individuals behind Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine (who is celebrating their 10 birthday!  Stop by their blog for some fun birthday celebrating and to wish them a Happy Birthday!) ~ one of which is the highly talented Vicki Boutin!

She is an inspiring individual both as a crafter and just as a wonderful person to know!  I wanted to share with you the make and take that she did with us last night, highlighting the MINC machine...

Herea are the quotes that inspired the DT this week!   Enjoy and play along with us!

I created a journal page with my quote
"Your Eyes are the Windows to Your Soul"
Immanuel Kant

Khristina

I really loved this challenge of incorporating a quote and there were SO many that I wanted to use and try in different ways. One of my favorite ways to incorporate a quote into my layouts is to create a bold title. Using a variety of text styles, sizes, and dimensions is a great way to create a unique visual look with a lot of eye appeal. If you want to see close-ups or learn more about this layout, please visit my blog. I can't wait to see how you incorporate quotes into your projects this week!

Darlene
So many wonderful quotes available to create with today.
I found this one on a 12x12 sheet of 7Gypsies designer paper and it spoke to me!

Gail

There's no better feeling than laughing and being silly with your sister.

Julia

My layout is all about learning to unwind and just let go of my type A personality on occasion. Even squirrels and bunny's will slow down on occasion just to watch us....
More close-ups are on my blog.

Lori
I'm not sure if mine is considered a quote or more of a sentiment, but I love it just the same. What better way to brighten someone's day than to tell them how much they mean to you!

I love this little stamp I got a couple of years ago... it always makes me smile so I choose to use it on the card I made for this challenge.

Challenge # 214 Flowers and more Flowers

Hi everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a new and colorful challenge. During this week you can link all your projects using any kind of flowers. Stamped, die cutting, punched or made with any material. You can create cards, layouts or any other paper creation that like to share with us.
Let the fun begin:

I decided to use stamped flowers. This is a new set from Joy Clair Stamps called Spring Flowers. I used the double stamping technique with different colors to create a special effect in each flower. The base and the second layer of my card are Whisper White and Ii added a tiny decorated edge that I cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. If you want to know more details about my project, I will waiting for you in my blog.

I made an ATC Box with 4 ATC's. All sentiments and the flower I used are from Darkroom Door. I colored everything with PanPastels.

Ever wonder what to do with those images you coloured in an adult colouring book?  I cut out this image and glued it into my art journal. To find out how I made the background, check out my blog.

I have an entire tray of Heartfelt Creations stamped/cut out flowers that were left over from a demo, so when Martha came up with this theme I just HAD to join in the fun!  After inking up my flowers I decided to create my own background to showcase them using the Bokeh technique!

Amanda

I'm not much of a flower girl, but loved this challenge! It made me think outside the box and I came up with this gorgeous mixed media card. The card was created using the amazing Dylusions paints (love the array of bright colours) with layered stencilling to make the background really pop!

Karrie
I wanted to use up some blue flowers on this boy page.

I had the December Paper Pumpkin from Stampin Up and I just didn't like the whole calendar thing, so with the help of Pinterest, I created some fun cards instead!  Here are just a few and the rest can be found on my blog!

Khristina
I decided to play along this week because I never use flowers on my layouts. I found this picture of my niece when we went camping and decided to make a girlie layout. For more information or to see close-ups, please visit my blog.

Renee

This card was made with the Faux Plaster technique.  The background has flowers in the embossed pattern and the flower in the bottom left corner was made with Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy die and stamp.  Please visit my blog for closeups and the details!

#213 Lace, Ribbon or Twine

Hello everyone! Lori here, and  I hope that you all had a good weekend! We are back and ready to go after a week off last week.

This week I am challenging you to use some sort of trim on your project. This can be ribbon, twine, lace, string - any sort of trim.

I have made a card for this week and I tied some string around the main panel.

Check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the design team. I am so excited that some of our new members joined in this challenge!

For this challenge I choose to use a simple piece of ribbon to highlight my layout (it doesn't show well here but the ribbon is in a wave across the page... it's not just crooked! lols).  The background & individual hearts were all cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut.

Amanda

Khristina

Creating a bold border was easy using lots of scraps of ribbon. The bright colors created a strong statement and really complemented this photo of my boys. I can't wait to see what you guys create this week with ribbon, twine, and lace! If you want to see close-ups, please visit my blog!

Tammy

Ribbon, Lace and Burlap were added to this Altered Frame adding a variety of texture.  I used Ribbon to make the bow, burlap behind the flowers up the left side and some Jute twine type ribbon alternating with some died lace in between along the bottom.  You can see more photos and details on my blog.  I hope you will stop by and also Link up your project!  We would love to see your creation :)

Darlene (newbie)

I love vintage design so of course ribbon, twine & lace lend themselves beautifully to any vintage image or design.  I've had a sheet of vintage images for a long, long time and it felt good to create with one of these sweet images.

Karrie
ribbon, lace and trim as embellishments!

So many beautiful projects from the design team! I hope that you are inspired to play along with our challenge this week!

I started scrapbooking in 2007 when 2 coworkers/friends took me to my first crop, one of the girls said all I needed to bring was the pictures and anything special to go with them, she provided me with my first album and I had access to her supply of paper. I fell in love with the hobby that day and have been doing it since, that year for Christmas they gave me my first tote-bag kit that I still use when going to crops. I love to scrap in my Scrapcave (scraproom) it gives a chance to relax and enjoy the process of preserving memories. I scrap, make cards, smash and project life.I live in South Williamsport, PA. I am married to a wonderful man now 22 years between the 2 of us we have 8 kids, 17 Grandkids, 4 Greatgrandkids :) We are the owners to 1 fur-baby too, Buddy an Australian cattle dog (Blue Heelers) and has been part of our lives since 2004.

Hi! My name is Khristina and I live in Arizona with my amazing husband and three adventurous children. I am a travel fanatic, avid reader, and dedicated scrapbooker. I love to combine new and old products in unique or unusual ways and have a huge stash that I am challenging myself to use in creative ways all the time. I call my style "flea market style" because I love to mix old and new in creative and unique ways in order to create an amazing product. I love to document everything from our everyday moments to our huge adventures! I am so very excited to join this team and grow in my own creativity but also to inspire others to try new things and preserve their stories.

I'm a long time paper crafter who specializes in clean and simple cards and 3D gifts.  I've been married 30 years to my wonderful husband, Steve.  We have four kids between the ages of 15-25.  I've been a Stampin' Up! demo since 2003.  I started my blog StampingMom.com in 2014.  I've enjoyed getting the chance to meet other crafters from around the world.  When I'm not stamping, I enjoy Bible study, exercising, gardening and traveling.  I also have two therapy dogs, Maya and Molly, whom I and my entire family love and adore!

My name is Tammy Cochrane.  I am from Vermont in the States, but currently live with my loving husband John and 3 Scottish Terriers (our children) - Conor - 11, Maisie - 3 and Fraser  - 11 months in Ottawa Ontario.   Aside from Scrapbooking and Paper-Crafting, I am also a baker.  I have a culinary degree and love to make cakes and pastries.
I am so honoured and excited to join this talented team!  I have been scrapbooking for over 15 years.  My style has changed greatly over the years.  I am currently really excited about mini albums, water colouring and mixed media techniques.  I am looking forward to passing on some inspiration and being inspired here on this team.

Hi!  I’m Darlene Pavlick from Akron, Ohio, USA.  My husband, Mark & I are originally from Pittsburgh, PA and that is where our families reside.  We have one daughter who is married with two children, Morgan (23) and Jonathan (18) and has her own accounting business.  She is the one who got me started in paper crafting about 12 years ago.  To make a long story short, once she introduced me to scrapbooking/card making, I’ve been paper crafting every day since.  It is my passion and mental therapy! I am retired, have the basement of our home set up as my ‘crafting cave’ and spend lots of time there spreading my creative wings!  I’ve been blessed to meet so many wonderfully talented people from around the world through this craft and many have become personal friends!
I’m honored to say that I have been on various design teams over the years but currently I am a member of The Sisterhood of Crafters (Originating sister 2010), Dies R Us Inspiration DT, Blog and DT Leader for Dies R Us Challenge Blog (March 2014), and a good friend and I just started our own challenge blog in January 2016 called Double D.

My name is Gail and I live with my hubby of 30 plus years in Canada's Capital - Ottawa. We don't have kids but we do have a cat named Cassie. I am retired from the federal government, which leaves me plenty of time for playing with this hobby that I love. I've been scrappin' and card making since 1998, so I have accumulated lots of stash and tools over the years.

I have been scrapbooking for about 11 years and enjoy both traditional and pocket scrapbooking. I enjoy creating my own backgrounds and love everything mixed media! Paint, stencils and stamps are my go to products!! Love them!! My style is quite contemporary, usually with a lot of colour! My two boys aged 8 and 2 years are largely my inspiration for scrapping and memory keeping. I am a current design team member over at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia and keep an eye out for some upcoming other guest appearances.

HEATHER!

My name is Heather McClelland. I'm a 36 year old wife and mom. I have two little boys, Jack and Ben, and the most awesome husband, Matt. I am super lucky enough to not have to work, and therefore am able to make art part of my daily life. I started my mixed media and tutorial blog a few months ago and recently started designing for art challenge blogs. I am excited to be able to combine my mixed media style with digital images and various other challenges.
