I don't know about you, but I loved seeing what the Creative Team did with the ad inspiration challenge. I also love what Julene did with it. I love the bold diagonal striped border and how it adds so much movement to her page. Great page, Julene!

Challenge #112 - Butterflies
Here in Southern Ontario we are quickly moving into winter. This week we had some snow that has stayed with us for a number of days. I'm hopeful it will be a white Christmas this year.
My scrapbooking seasons tend to fall a bit behind the actual season because I'm always late in printing my photos so this weeks' challenge is to use some butterflies on your project.
I did this layout about my youngest daughter. She'd just had her haircut in preparation for going back to school and was just about to turn 12.

I had bought this butterfly die cut from Stampin Up and hadn't really had a chance to use it yet. This was a perfect opportunity.
Amanda
Butterflies are a must on many of my feminine and/or wedding layouts. I used my favorite butterfly punch from Creative Memories to create a few butterflies for this layout of my dear friend on her wedding day. I also used a butterfly sticker that I have had in my stash for a long time!
Barb
Once again, I'm a little late to this party. Better late, than never, though, right? For this challenge I used some chipboard butterflies to emellish this page of my mom and I.

Challenge #111 - Ad Challenge
Hello everyone. Welcome to another week on the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog. This week the challenge is to take a look at the advertisement and let it inspire you in some way on your next project. Be sure to come back here to link your project up so we can see what you did with the challenge.
Here's the advertisement:
Here's the advertisement:
Here's what I came up with, based on the ad. As you can see, I didn't deviate too far from it.
Lynne
I am a big fan of sketches and ad challenges. I was inspired by the set of three photos at the top and bottom of the ad. I was also inspired by my favorite baseball team, the 2013 World Series Champion Red Sox.
Amanda
I also love sketches and this ad really did resemble a sketch I thought! I had fun making this layout, inspired by the ad, of one of my great friends at her wedding a few years ago.
Isbaha
It looks like that I wasn't inspired by the same things than the others ! As for me, I really liked the colors (green-blue-orange/kraft), the "home" feeling, and also the clean style.
(There is a tutorial for the fabric Christmas tree on my blog).
Milena
I really liked this challenge. I loved the simplicity and clean lines of the ad and copied it very closely. I turned it on its side and added a photo to the middle.

Challenge #110 Let it Snow
Hello bloggers! Tammy here and I'm so excited to be bringing you my first challenge as part of the UYS team.
Here in Calgary, the snow starts flying around the end of October and sometimes, like last year, can last until April. That makes for a loooong winter :)
My challenge this week is all about the fluffy white...SNOW!
I would love to see your projects that incorporate snow, it could be snowflakes, snowmen, winter, anything where I can see the snow in it.

I'm the first one to tell you I love winter, however, sometimes it is a challenge. This layout uses Echo Park's Winter Park Kit as well as some epoxy snowflake stickers by Katie Pertiet. Snow isn't all fun and games but I don't enjoy those rare winters when we are without it.

Tammy
Winter always comes early here in Calgary and seems to last forever!
I used some Echo Park This and That as well as some Fancy Pants Home for Christmas. I also had some little embellishments from my Christmas box and I added in some wooden snowflakes some of which I painted white and some I left natural with just a bit of spritz for shine. (Sorry, it's really hard to see in this picture).
Amanda
In Saskatchewan we definitely get our fair share of snow! How fitting that we got out first big snow storm of the season as I sat down to scrap for this challenge! I used a cream colored piece of paper that had some snowflakes embossed on it already along the bottom. Then I stamped and embossed the large one in the circle myself. The larger purple snowflake was cut on my Cricut and the small ones were made using a punch.
No snowflakes for me but I have still had fun.
Snowflowers I've created instead.
Have a peek at my blog. There's prizes to be won.
When Tammy asked us to scrap "snow", I immediatly thought about this old Echo Park collection, but I had only one sheet left... No problem ! I decided to make the same mini album than last week (and this time, I made a step-by-step on my blog).
Barb
I love winter and I love making wintery layouts. I always have a hard time trying to decide which beautiful snow products to use. For this one, I mixed it up and used a variety.
Challenge #109 Highlights
Thank you to everyone that took part to the "limited supplies" challenge, it was very interesting to see how you interpreted this, and the projects were beautiful ! Here are some highlights :
JanR chose to color on textured cardstocks and she didn't use any patterned paper :
Julene decided to make Christmas cards even if she had only purple cards :
Samantha K decided to keep her card pretty simple to highlight her colored stamped image :
Beautiful cards ! Please, be sure to grab your badge :
Thank you again to everyone that participated.

Challenge #109 - Limited supplies
Hello everybody, Isbaha here, and I'm so happy to to share a challenge with you !
Scrapbookers often own lots and lots of supplies, and it might be difficult to choose what to use, not to mention to use it in a different way... And be honest, sometimes, we also find our old supplies boring.
But it's amazing how much most of supplies can be stretched and get a new look !
So here is my challenge this week : use limited supplies.
And then, try to find how you could use them to fit your needs before reaching for something else.
The idea is to use less supplies as usual, so as you'll find new ways for using them.
Of course, this quantity of supplies depends of your scrapbooking style (if you're minimalist or if you love to layer !).
As for me, I decided to use only 3 stamps to make a set of cards : I chose a background stamp with words that I can also use as sentiments, a banner stamp that I found very versatile, and a tree stamp, because I thought it would also make a great lace border !
I used the three stamps on each card, can you find them ?
I didn't use patterned papers but I used embossing folders to add more interest to my cardstocks
(I always forget about using them !).
Edit 11/13/2013 : I have another project to share with you. It's a mini album made with white cardstock and only one sheet of patterned paper (both sides - see it below after I cut it) by Webster's page !
Now, what will YOU do ?
Will you choose to use only a limited number of stamps like me ? Will you try to stretch up only a couple of sheets of double side paper ? Will you decide to use only what is on your desk right now ? Will you prefer to "kill up" an old kit ?
I can't wait to see what you will do ! Add your project by clicking on the blue frog below.

I chose to just use a few supplies that were already on my desk, including this candy cane stripe embossing folder that I'd not used in awhile. I just added a little ribbon, bling and a small sentiment.
Milena
I used just some cardstock, some letters and a stamp across the bottom of the cover page for our NYC trip album. Can you believe we were there in 2012 and this is the first page I've done for it? I need to get going on that!! It's a very simple page, but I like that about it.
Barb
When I first saw this challenge I didn't know how I was going to do it. I took the challenge very literally - one sheet of patterned paper - plus the basics such as cardstock.
I used the Simple Stories 24/7 Hexagon paper as my one sheet which gave me several different patterns to work with. I even used the hexagons to make my banners on top.
Other than that, it is just cardstock.
This is a total 360 for me! I am excited by some decisions I have made and the class that is now developing as a result which sits perfectly with Isbaha's Challenge.
Keeping it CAS to show of my tiny photos in now the aim!
