Challenge #235 - Mood Board Inspiration

Good Morning

It's Shirley here with this weeks challenge.  For this challenge I wanted to do something I haven't done of late so I decided to go with a "mood board" as inspiration.  This challenge can be as simple or as complex as you wish to make it... use just the colours for inspiration, or perhaps the patterns. There is also the items, or even a combination of these!  You could even use where the board takes you as inspiration!  I am so excited I just can't wait to see what everyone creates.  So here it is your "inspiration"

And here is my layout created using the above:

And here is what the other talented Design Team members have created to "inspire" you even more!

I made this card using MME papers plus some Pink Paislee and Prima stamps.

I used a stamp set and patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I used Creative Memories photo mats and embellishments mixed with a reconstructed layout

Here is what I came up with inspired by the polka dots, black yellow and white scheme
and a pretty lady (my mom on her wedding day)

I was really inspired by the color combination and used a black and white photo to allow the colors to really pop and accent the picture.

I loved all the ideas you can get from this mood board! I used the colors along with the kitty from the board. The cat die cut is from Miss Kate Cuttables; Fence die from Jaded Blossom, and sentiment from Cardz TV Stamps Fall Fun set.

And now it is your turn......

Happy Crafting and don't forget to add your colourful creations via the InLinkz

Hugs Shirl

Challenge #234 - Butterflies

Hello! Amanda here with this week's challenge! Butterflies are one of the most beautiful insects and they can be used for so many different occasions and ideas in scrapbooking! This week the challenge is to use butterflies in some way, shape or form on your project!

For mine I die cut some butterflies from scraps and embossed them and then created this card. I left it blank so that I can have it on hand and just add a sentiment as needed!

I used the Tim Holtz Mixed Media 2 dies for my tag, added Gesso and stamped it with StaZon in Rusty Brown.
I cut the butterflies with the Tim Holtz Thinlits and added a sentiment from VLVS. A piece of Jute Rope finished my project :)

A two page layout based on a Scrapbook and Cards Today sketch featuring photos of our visit to the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls (Canada) in June of this year.

To see the individual pages, the sketch and a list of products used, check out my blog.

I altered a rather boring old picture frame into a reminder chalkboard, prettied up with butterflies.

Butterflies have always been my Mama's favorite. They are all around her house. Even pinned to the curtains. I made a little gift box using a die cut from the Silhouette Online Store and my Cameo. Some pattern paper was added, a little ink shading, sentiment stamp and lime green tulle.

I love butterflies because they are almost invisible. In today's card I used a die cut to create the background and I embossed the paper with WOW Banana Split Embossing Powder to cut my butterflies with a punch. If you want to see the entire tutorial click HERE.

I love altering objects to decorate them differently depending on the use they will have. In this challenge with butterflies, I wanted to decorate and brighten up my house with some elements such as a metal can and a few clothespins magnet. I used watercolors, acrylics, embossing, stencil, stamps, fabric ... Click in the photo to see the details

Renee
For this challenge, I created a butterfly planner clip as well as an insert with a butterfly die cut on it.  Planners are super popular, and it is always nice to create custom decorations for your planner.

I have a fun little mini album to share with you this week using BoBunny Butterfly Kisses paper, some Prima flowers from my stash and butterflies created with EK Success punches.  Hope you will stop by my blog to see all the details!

Maria Pilar
Hello. My name is Maria Pilar. I am from Spain and  I live in Alcala de Henares, the city of Cervantes, with my husband. I studied Hispanic Philology and I work outside home as an administrative of Community of Madrid. I love crafts from small and although I made several techniques, since I discovered scrapbooking about 6 years ago, most of the time performed work with paper, stamps, inks; but I don't abandon my taste for mixed media, altered art, etc. I love learning and I'm always open to new techniques. My blog is written in Spanish but I have the translator button. I'm very excited about working on the Use Your Stuff Design Team and share this beautiful hobby with all of you."

Hi, my name is Amy.  I am a stay at home mother to three amazing children.  My daughter (the oldest) just started college at The University of Texas Austin, my middle son started his second year at UNT (he started college at 16) and my baby will be 14 in December and is in the 8th grade; they keep me full of life and very busy at times. We live in Georgetown, Texas which is right outside of Austin, Texas. I love to travel and of course craft.  I started scrapbooking 18 years ago and have been making cards for 8, I love both but right now card making is my favorite.  My style is more CAS then anything but I love trying new techniques and of course learning all styles. I'm very excited to be part of the team!!!

Challenge #233 Color Challenge

Beth here to host the next challenge.   I found this color combination on a Pinterest board... I hope the creator doesn't mind that I loved it so much, I wanted to use it here.  For my card, I used Stampin' Up! current colors of Cucumber Crush, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla and retired Stampin' Up! colors Gable Green and Bashful Blue.  Pop on over to my blog for all the details. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I decided to make a canvas with the beautiful choice of colors. They look a bit darker than IRL, but still, I like it ....

I used the Mixed Media dies from Tim Holtz, Gesso and lots of paint. The die cuts are the Tim Holtz Wildflowers.

I used mostly Close to My Heart products here and a PageMaps sketch.

I used a combination of lots of different products from my stash to create this fun layout! I have a process video on my You Tube channel to go along with it to show you how easy it is to get this fun look with cut files, texture paste, and a few fun patterned papers! Please stop by and watch...

Amanda

Karrie
i loved this "Springy" color scheme for a baby page about our boy who was 5 months old in March.

Tina
Loved the color pallet and used alot scraps in my current counterfeit kit for my card

Gorgeous colours to work with!  I don't often use stickers so for something different I created a Christmas card using stickers & our colour chart!

Challenge #232 Watercolor

Welcome back!  Tammy C here to host the next challenge.  This week, we would like to see your watercolor creations!  Use watercolor to create a background, or to color your stamped image.
For my card, I used Distress inks  and a water brush to create the background, and watercolor pencils to color the bird.  Pop on over to my blog for all the details.

Be sure to visit the blogs of my very talented Teammates with their creations and leave some love ;)
I used Distress Inks over watercolor paper, to create the texture I prayed with water and when the paper was dry I stamped my images and sprayed again. Here is the complete Tutorial.
Sarah

Amanda I used some watercolor markers to color the Santa.
Gail I used Crayola Twistable Slick Stix as my watercolours on this card.
  Majo
I used water colors for my background, watered them down a bit with water drops and heat embossed my stamped images with Stampendous Detail White Opaque Powder.
I took off some of the color on the flower and the leaves with bleach.

Renee

For today's challenge, I created a water colored background scene to showcase this image that I colored with Copic Markers.  I wanted a background that mimicked a painted wall and wood flooring.  Watercolors were the perfect answer given the texture that they naturally create.

Show us your creations!  Happy Scrappin'!
