Happy Halloween

It's a free week for the Design Team but some of us want to show you our spooky creations for a fun theme of HALLOWEEN.

Tammy
Here's a layout of my little guy's first halloween!  He was just three months old!

Karrie
Playing around with old stuff and trying to made cards, this turned into a journal page.
Just Be Wicked!

 Majo

I created this Halloween Tag in Mixed Media style. I used Gesso and texture paste for my background, some Tim Holtz Stamps and dies from a Stamp-/die set from Sizzix.

Happy Haunting ♥

There's more Halloween treat boxes on my blog today.  These are the perfect size for two Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins.

Feel free to link up your Halloween projects below for us to check out!

Challenge # 239 - Oct 24 - Heritage

Hello, Karrie here...  My turn to hostess, it's challenge # 239, and I want to see something from your Heritage!  A photo that is older than 20 years, a piece of memorabilia or ephemera older than 10 years, or maybe document a memory  you have of something longer than 5 years ago!
Oh and USE AS MUCH other STUFF AS YOU CAN!
What does heritage mean to you?  Old photos or old paper, or new supplies that look old ~ I don't feel that there should be too many restrictions on creativity and creating.... But please explain in your blog post how it fits the theme.

My photo is my mom and her baby sister, this pic is from about 1954...

My fabulous team mates have made these:

I decided to make an Christmas ornament using a picture of my oldest.

I'm using a picture of me when I was 4 (umm 50 years ago!)

Gail

Photos of an old apothecary (est. 1869) located in Niagara-on-the-Lake. I used mostly BoBunny - Heritage line.

Photo from mid 1970's

TammyL
The pictures in my layout are from my last trip to London in 2000 and so the British paper is at least that old as well!

I am not so much a heritage person in as much as the style of scrapbooking so today I am going to share a double layout created using the "proofs" from our wedding photographer.  I wanted the photos to speak for themselves so I choose to keep the embellishments to a minimum.  We recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary so I'd say this meets the "heritage" criteria

Challenge #238 - Mixing up the Stamps

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia hosting the blog this week.

Welcome to a new challenge theme! This week we have a special theme using stamps. You can create any kind of project mixing your stamps, combining two or more images or stamp sets in your project. Easy and fun!

Here is my project

On this card I used two different stamps, the first to stamp the banner  and the second to stamp the sentiment. HERE you will find a complete steps to create this card.

I used a sentiment stamp, an image clear stamp, and a digi stamp

Majo

I have used a Rubber Dance Stamp for my main image, a sentiment from PI. The little white flowers on my background are also from Rubber Dance Stamps.

I have inked my background with Distress Ink in different colours and sprayed a bit of water onto it, just love the texture it creates!

I created a small canvas art piece this week to shake things up a bit.  I used Distress Paints for the background.  The stamps were from the Thankful set from CTMH.  Stop by my blog for all the details and more pics!

I used two stamps as background: wispy chrysanthemum outline and solid with blue and yellow ink.   And the sentiment is another stamp embossed.

You can see more details HERE.

Amanda

I used a Christmas tree stamp and sentiment stamp to get a start on my Christmas cards!

#237 Color Combo Challenge - Orange, Black & One Neutral

Hello everyone!!!
Welcome to a new challenge, we can't wait to see what you create for this weeks challenge. Since Halloween is this month I thought it might be fun to use some fun Halloween colors in our new challenge.

"Orange, Black and One Neutral Color"

I was going for a simple, elegant Halloween card.  I hope you like it!!!

I did something different ~ scrapped on the wall in our entry way!!
All things Halloween in black and orange with my neutral being white.
(closeups here if you care to see!)

Amanda

I know to many these colours are traditional Halloween colours but I have decided to go away from any themes and must make a nice easel card.

#236 Make Your Own Embellishment

Hello Friends!

Welcome to this weeks challenge, the title says it all...Make Your Own Embellishment to use on a card or scrapbook layout or other crafty item of your choice. For this weeks challenge I created leaf embellishments for my layout. I used a leaf stamp on green pattern paper and then fussy cut it out, there are 3 on this layout in each embellishment cluster.

Here are the projects the other designers made this week...

I used hemp cords to create the little flowers on my tag. Easy peasy, just adhere double sided tape to card stock, cut out circles and add he hemp cord in circles. A little pearl finished my embellishment ♥

So much fun to create ....

I love to create my own flowers. In this card I made three little roses. They are fun to do but are very nice. They are made with waste of cardboard.

I love to create my own embellishments using Makin's Clay. In this opportunity I used the earth tones of clay and the push mold called Leaves.
FALL TAG - STAMPARTPAPEL

All the details about my Fall Tag HERE

Janis I made a 3" x 4" filler card for my Project Life Scrapbook
Amanda     On this layout I die cut the leaves and the hearts and combined the hearts with a piece of orange scrap paper to make the little block behind the word 'sweet'.
Tammy C. C. This week I have an altered project to share.  I created an altered Post-it note holder.  The embellishments I created are the flowers and tag.  Please stop by my blog for more details and pics.

Highlights - Challenge #235 - Mood Board

Good Morning All

Today it is a Public Holiday where I live in Australia so I am enjoying a nice quiet day at home before the onslaught of another working week begins.  It is also the day I have to do my highlights post.  I both love and hate these days.  I want to say firstly... I wanted to choose everyone who played along with my challenge this week.  You  are all "winners" in my eyes.  Each card creation was so different and so unique in it's own way!  I truly loved them all!  And I have been inspired in some little way by each card.... so thank you.  So without further ado here are my choices :

Lauren funnily enough I don't like spiders and I don't do Halloween at all being an Aussie (mind you plenty of Aussies do these days!) but I feel instantly in love with your card for a couple of reasons: the creative use with your sewing machine to create that stunning web and the way you used the washi tape to make your "happy" totally rock!

To be totally honest you had me at "sunflowers" as they are one of my absolute all time fave flowers.  They always brighten and lighten your mood with one glance.  Now this aside I loved the background you created, your gorgeous colouring in and I really loved how you made the centres "pop".

and lastly

Your card creation, well just WOW for me.  I am in awe of anyone you can create a background like yours and make it look so fantastic.  I love the sponging, the water colour, even how you have used the bling which makes the card appear to have little droplets of water sitting on it!

Until next time, thank you all so much for playing along with my little challenge.  I hope you all enjoyed it.

Hugs

Shirl
