# 421 Inspired by a Book

Welcome to Monday and this week's fun new challenge!

Our challenge is INSPIRED BY A BOOK

It can be a title, a character, a theme, a book cover, whatever inspires you by a certain book.

Let's look at what the DT has created to help you along!

Helen - as soon as I saw this image, it reminded me of the book 'All Creatures Great and Small' by James Herriot. It looks just like a scene from an old fashioned country show!

My slimline card is based on the book Alice's Adventure in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - GAIL

Julene has made a layout about her visit to Green Gables on Prince Edward Island.

I was inspired by a book my son has called "Love You More" and used lots of hearts on this page!

#420 Spring/Easter

Good Morning everyone!

Here is the new challenge for your enjoyment! Our theme is Spring/Easter (now I know Easter is done, but if you still feel like making some projects that have that feel to them, go right ahead!)

For this project, I decided to dip into my Easter picture archives and feature a pic of my girls visiting with the Easter Bunny.

We have a fun mood board challenge for you today. If you aren't familiar with a mood board, all you have to do is look at the photos, find something that inspires you and use that to create your project. It could be a color, a design or an icon or even a combination of things. There is lots of fun things to see in this...bees, stars, balloons, books, hearts, flowers, script.

Here is what the DT has created for you.

Helen - from the mood board I used the colours, balloons, hearts and script paper. From my stash I used some paper, ribbon and card that I've had for a long time!

#418 - Enamel Dots

Thank you so much everyone for playing along in our collab with Double Trouble and to the whole Double Trouble team for having us share their challenge! I will post our highlights and winner later today.

On to this week's challenge! ENAMEL DOTS!

We would like to see some enamel dots on your projects this week, and yes Nueovo Drops are fine as well...if you are anything like me you have a ton of them! Don't forget that enamel dots can be in shapes as well and they are good too!

I love enamel dots!

I sprinkle them on just about every layout I create.
I even have a subscription to a monthly kit that includes a set of enamel shapes each month.

Here I used 3 sparkly emerald green enamel dots on my 6x8 Traditional Paper Layout documenting a moment of utter bliss for our pet mini-pig Hamlet; belly scratches!

For the challenge, I used Nuvo drops to create enamel dots to accent my florals on my memory spread.

#417 A Double Trouble Collaboration

Hey everyone! We are once again excited to be partnering with the Double Trouble Blog for this month's first challenge!

Our challenge on the UYS blog is to use a Tartan or Plaid/Checks on your project!

#416 It's My Favorite.....

For this fun challenge we want to see what your favorite is.....it could be a favorite sketch, embellishment, tool, color etc....Let us know in your post which of your favorites you used.

Here are some favorites of the DT

I like using green on layouts,especially the soft mint and teal colours.

On this layout I used red flowers as contrast.

I love the colour BLUE.

It's not secret that I love Disney and so scrapping Disney is my absolute favorite thing...and then throw in a little Star Wars and it is perfection!

One of my favourite techniques, especially when using patterned papers, is outlining around the edges with black to make the pages pop! And of course, one of my favourite topics to scrap - my kids!

I've used my (current!) favourite stamp set, stamping which is my favourite card making technique, my favourite colour combination (red and brown) and my favourite colouring medium (Promarkers).

This spread is all of my favorites. It's my favorite medium (planners), in my favorite color (pink) and has my favorite set of stickers on it (my custom sorority stickers). I love this so much!
