#298 - Weather

Hi everyone! Welcome to my first challenge of the new year!  This week, I would love to see weather on your projects -C The design team has some great pieces to share with you to get the mojo flowing and we can't wait to see what you come up with!  Don't forget to link down below.

--Tammy

Here is my project for this week.  I used a Kraftin Kimmie stamp called Look for Rainbows!  I colored with my Copics and used some DP from LYB called The Escape.  I added a little dimension by cutting out some of the clouds and popping them up with dimensionals.

I have decided to make a small canvas as a wall hanging. I think I already know who is going to get it :)

I applied Gesso with a stencil, when it was dry I inked it up with distress ink in three different colours. I stamped my image on tissue paper and adhered it with napkin varnish.

Some hemp cord and a little wooden heart finished my project!

I have chosen to display snowfall that we get in my area in Northern Ontario.  Blankets of snow that cover everything... annoying as it is to shovel, drive in and bundle up for, it is quite pretty.

Stephanie
For this project, I featured a picture I took while on vacation last summer of a water spout that formed over the Gulf of Mexico.

My weather has been cold but not much snow.  However, I did manage to get this photo of the front of our house with a little snow.
Amanda

We have been getting a lot of snow here and that was the inspiration to make some more Christmas cards. This one I did after I came in from shovelling!

Challenge #297 - Button Up

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! We hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the new week!

Are you ready for a new challenge? We have a fun one lined up for you this week, using a long forgotten item from our stash - buttons! That's right - this week our challenge is - Button Up - use at least 2 buttons on your project. They can be real or paper, just show us at least 2 buttons.

For my project, I have created a card using a couple of wooden buttons that have been in my stash for quite a while!

Here's a look at what the rest of the design team has created using buttons:

I have been working on an album for my daughter's 9th birthday when we surprised her with a trip to the American Girl store in Atlanta. She had such a great time and I have been really enjoying putting the album together finally (she is now 16!).
You can see more of the completed layout on my blog.

Amanda

I used some buttons I recently received in the mail from a scrappy friend to compliment this layout from our trip to Nova Scotia in 2011.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We hope to see you playing along with our button challenge this week!

Use Your Stuff #296 - Tag You're It!

Welcome to our next challenge here at Use Your Stuff!  This week's task is entitled "Tag! You're It!"  In other words, use your stash to make a tag.  If you are like me, chances are you have a mountain of scraps that you do not have the heart to throw away.  Well, you are in luck, because tags are the PERFECT way to use your scraps to make one of a kind embellishments.  Not to mention, if you want to do something creative, but don't have oodles of spare time, it's a quick way to let your juices flow.  Check out what our design team did with this challenge, and don't forget to link up your tags!

For this challenge, I used scraps of sports themed paper to make one of a kind tags for future projects featuring my children.

Reused flower packaging to make tags.

I used a plain tag for an embellishment on my layout

Amanda
I also used a simple plain tag from my stash on my layout - I used it for my journalling space.

#295 - Monochromatic

This week's challenge is to go Monochromatic!  For anyone not familiar with the term, that means that your project will have varying shades of the same color.  It is ok to throw in a neutral like black, white, kraft as long as it isn't the predominant color....

Here's some ideas from the DT for you to help you out!

My mostly pink card.

Monochromatic planner spread using shades of black, grey and white.

I was inspired by this picture of my daughter from WDW.
My girl has been a lover of all things Stitch since she was 2.  I have been wanting to do a LO with a cut file like this for awhile. Pretty happy with how this turned out.

Amy. L

I have created this blue layout to  for my nephews album. The picture is all different tones of blue, which is what inspired me to use blue as the main colour. Stay tuned for a process video for this.

Amanda

I'm trying to get a bit of a head start on Christmas cards for next year while I am still in the mood to do so! The fresh snow the other day inspired me to create this card in all white.

I used pinks and reds on this fun Valentine's Day card.
