CHALLENGE #263 FEATHER HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you to all of you who participated in my "Feathers" challenge here at Use Your Stuff.   It's always so fun to see how others interpret a challenge.  I loved each and everyone!  After much consideration, these were the ones I thought deserved a shout out ...

I love the "shiplap" and the bundle of feathers on this card.   Such a masculine, rustic Father's Day card.  Beautiful work!

The translucent feathers are the perfect touch to this scrapbook layout about catching a bird.

Cardinals make me happy!  I love the colors and the frame around the bird stamp.

Thank you again for playing along, and check out this week's challenge!

Highlights #263- Galaxy/Star Wars theme

Thank you to those crafters who jumped into their stash to make some fun pieces for my first blog post.
I loved each persons take on this theme, from using a star wars background or using a space theme.

All three of the entries this week were a brilliant use of their stash and various papercrafting; cardmaking in this instance.

Emily

Willa

I really liked entry #3 Sarah.N and thought the card was quite a fun version of star wars.

Thank you again to those who participated in this blog challenge.

Amy.

Challenge #263 Feathers

Welcome to this week's challenge at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.  This is Stephanie, and I'm challenging you to use feathers on a project.  Perhaps you have a cute bird embellishment or an adorable sheet of paper with feathers. Maybe you have a cute digital stamp of a feathery friend you have been dying to use.  Let your creativity "fly!"  We can't wait to see what you create!

I made a triptych with bird postage stamps and feathers. More on my blog - welcome!

Gail
I used one of those colouring book pages, cut out some of the images and used them on a card.

For this project, I was inspired by the Native American print papers, namely the feather design sheet.
I created a double page scrapbook layout to highlight pictures of my children playing at a park that is the home of one of the two largest Indian mounds in the USA.

Chris C.
I went a little out of my comfort zone and used a feathers stencil with some light texture paste and then used water colors to paint the feathers.  I used all Fancy Pants Attwell goodies on my page featuring my two youngest grandsons.

Got these cool feather veneers, and this 70's LO just appeared!

Challenge #262 - Star Wars/ galaxy theme

Hi all, Amy L here and for this weeks challenge I am challenging you to use your scrappy force and create something using a star wars/ galaxy theme.  You could create a whole STAR WARS themed project or maybe just stars and/or planets.  Maybe its space travel and space ships. Perhaps there is a part of the actual movie that inspires you or a quote.  Be creative and inspired.   I have done a 2 page project life spread documenting my sons star wars birthday. I have used my stash to create the project life cards and embellishments on the spread, as well as some printable I found online to create the character cards.

So may the force be with you this week as you use your stash to get creative.

Gail

Hubby and I were at Disney World a couple of weeks ago and rode the Star Wars ride (called Star Tours). So great timing for this challenge. I used a PageMaps sketch. For more details, check out my blog.

Amanda

We had my daughter's second birthday party a couple of days ago. I chose to do a 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' theme and was inspired by a photo I saw on Facebook to create this star 'chandelier'. I also made a star banner and star tags for the gift bags from my scrap supplies! I apologize for the photo quality - with that window there I just couldn't get a good shot!

Majo

Well, I'm not too much into the Star Wars scene, so I decided to go at least for the stars. I inked my tag and applied texture paste with a stencil. Please visit my blog for close ups.

Heather R

I actually scrapped some older pictures.  Hard to believe the little guy in the pictures is about to graduate from high school in less than a month.  We have always loved the Disney Star Wars Weekends and Star Tours. I have another Star Wars themed layout on my blog.

Kristin
Hello! I used a Star Wars themed paper I've been hoarding to make this 12x12 page. Photo was taken at a White Sox game last summer during Star Wars night.

I have used a star patterned paper and a star die cut on my card.

For this challenge, I used lots of scrap paper and my Silhouette Cameo to create this fun slider birthday card for a little boy.

Guest Designer Teresa
Teresa will be joining us as a Guest Designer for the month of May!

I have been crafting for over 20 years...at first falling in love with scrapbooking but most recently having developed a strong passion for card making. I absolutely love sharing, giving and receiving homemade cards. I especially love coloring cute little images to go on my cards. I am so extremely passionate about this hobby that I decided to turn it into a business several years ago. I own/operate a Facebook group where I sell hot, trendy supplies at less than retail price...it is called Scrapping for Less. Recently, (last October) I decided to branch out and open a website and even more recently (in March) introduced a card kit like no other kit on the market. I am honored to be sharing the month with you here at the Use Your Stash Challenge blog as I sure have lots and lots of stash to use up!

Challenge #261 - Circles

Hello Everyone - Chris C. here with your challenge this week. I can't believe this is the last week of April.

For this week's challenge, I would like to see some circles (at least one) on  your project.  There are so many options for creating circles - hand drawn, stitched, punched, die cuts, or cut files to name a few. I've used a cut file from Paper Issues and backed each circle with a piece of patterned paper from the Fancy Pants Joy Parade 6x6 paper pad. I look forward to seeing the cards/layouts/projects you create this week using circles.

Gail

I,  too, used a cut file on my layout and backed it with papers from a 6x6 paper pad by Pink Paislee - Oh My Heart.

Amy
I created this layout using a Kaisercraft bubble mini stencil to create the background, then using my fiskars cirle punch and my diamond press dies to cut out various circle shapes. The circles create a fun and slightly wacky theme, perfect for documenting Willy Wonka.

got some dot-print paper, circle stencils and stamps, brads

-When I think circles, I think soccer!

Alice K.

My circles are layered on the background. Hop over to my blog to learn how I made the backgrounds.

I used pieces of the April 2017 Paper Pumpkin to make my "circle" card.

Amanda

I used some die cut circles to highlight the cow on this birthday card for my father in law.
He has just recently purchased some livestock!

I used some stickers that are circles for embellishing on my layout in various clusters
