Our New DT

Thank you to everyone who contacted me to apply for the team! Wow! It was the hardest choice so far that we've had. We had 3 positions to fill and actually took on 4 new members, if that gives you any indication! If you were not chosen...thank you so much for applying and please do apply for our next call! We love that you want to be a part of our team!

Please welcome to the team

Maria Pilar
Hello. My name is Maria Pilar. I am from Spain and  I live in Alcala de Henares, the city of Cervantes, with my husband. I studied Hispanic Philology and I work outside home as an administrative of Community of Madrid. I love crafts from small and although I made several techniques, since I discovered scrapbooking about 6 years ago, most of the time performed work with paper, stamps, inks; but I don't abandon my taste for mixed media, altered art, etc. I love learning and I'm always open to new techniques. My blog is written in Spanish but I have the translator button. I'm very excited about working on the Use Your Stuff Design Team and share this beautiful hobby with all of you."

Hi, my name is Amy.  I am a stay at home mother to three amazing children.  My daughter (the oldest) just started college at The University of Texas Austin, my middle son started his second year at UNT (he started college at 16) and my baby will be 14 in December and is in the 8th grade; they keep me full of life and very busy at times. We live in Georgetown, Texas which is right outside of Austin, Texas. I love to travel and of course craft.  I started scrapbooking 18 years ago and have been making cards for 8, I love both but right now card making is my favorite.  My style is more CAS then anything but I love trying new techniques and of course learning all styles. I'm very excited to be part of the team!!!

Hi, everyone! I’m Janis, and my crafting blog is Pause Dream Enjoy (.com). I’ve been scrapbooking since I was in middle school.  I’m also a card maker, tag maker, Project Life pocket scrapbooker, among other types of paper crafting and crochet-er. On a personal note, I’m 50 years old, married 30 years with 4 kids, 2 grandkids, and one more grand baby on the way. All of our children are grown and on their own except our youngest who has special needs and will always live with us. My husband and I love to travel. We’ve moved over 25 times in our 30 years of marriage. Currently we live in Alaska, USA. My favorite type of crafting is card making, and I love love love sentiment stamp sets!

Haven

Hi, I'm Haven and I'm from Eugene, Oregon.  I'm the mother of 4 (3girls and 1boy) and the wife to my amazing husband, Ben.  I got started in traditional 12x 12 layouts over 18 years ago and have dabbled in other disciplines of paper crafting, but my true love is single page creations.  I enjoy trying new techniques and a good challenge.  I'm currently on the design team at Lasting Memories and have had the privilege to design for a few other DT's as well as guest design for a few too.  I'm excited to be a part of the Use Your Stuff design team.

Challenge #233 Color Challenge

Beth here to host the next challenge.   I found this color combination on a Pinterest board... I hope the creator doesn't mind that I loved it so much, I wanted to use it here.  For my card, I used Stampin' Up! current colors of Cucumber Crush, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla and retired Stampin' Up! colors Gable Green and Bashful Blue.  Pop on over to my blog for all the details. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I decided to make a canvas with the beautiful choice of colors. They look a bit darker than IRL, but still, I like it ....

I used the Mixed Media dies from Tim Holtz, Gesso and lots of paint. The die cuts are the Tim Holtz Wildflowers.

I used mostly Close to My Heart products here and a PageMaps sketch.

I used a combination of lots of different products from my stash to create this fun layout! I have a process video on my You Tube channel to go along with it to show you how easy it is to get this fun look with cut files, texture paste, and a few fun patterned papers! Please stop by and watch...

Amanda

Karrie
i loved this "Springy" color scheme for a baby page about our boy who was 5 months old in March.

Tina
Loved the color pallet and used alot scraps in my current counterfeit kit for my card

Gorgeous colours to work with!  I don't often use stickers so for something different I created a Christmas card using stickers & our colour chart!

Challenge #232 Watercolor

Welcome back!  Tammy C here to host the next challenge.  This week, we would like to see your watercolor creations!  Use watercolor to create a background, or to color your stamped image.
For my card, I used Distress inks  and a water brush to create the background, and watercolor pencils to color the bird.  Pop on over to my blog for all the details.

Be sure to visit the blogs of my very talented Teammates with their creations and leave some love ;)
I used Distress Inks over watercolor paper, to create the texture I prayed with water and when the paper was dry I stamped my images and sprayed again. Here is the complete Tutorial.
Sarah

Amanda I used some watercolor markers to color the Santa.
Gail I used Crayola Twistable Slick Stix as my watercolours on this card.
  Majo
I used water colors for my background, watered them down a bit with water drops and heat embossed my stamped images with Stampendous Detail White Opaque Powder.
I took off some of the color on the flower and the leaves with bleach.

Renee

For today's challenge, I created a water colored background scene to showcase this image that I colored with Copic Markers.  I wanted a background that mimicked a painted wall and wood flooring.  Watercolors were the perfect answer given the texture that they naturally create.

Show us your creations!  Happy Scrappin'!

Hey there!  We hope you had an amazing month of summer holidays!  The DT will be back next week with some new challenges and inspiration for you!

Speaking of the DT, we are sad to say good bye to DT members Sarah, Jana and Lori....we have loved having them on the UYS team and we hope that you have been inspired and amazed at their amazing creations each week.  Make sure you continue to check out their blogs!  We wish them all the best in the future and hope that they will stop by now and then to say hi and let us know how they are doing!

So, we have 3 positions to fill!  If you are interested in being on a DT here's what we are looking for:

You need to have access to facebook as that is where we meet and discuss all our team stuff!

You need to love to scrap - it can be layouts, cards, mixed media, altered art whatever! As long as you love to create it and it fits within our weekly theme for your team!

You need to be able to create a minimum of 2 projects a month (each team alternates) and host your own challenge about once every 3 months!

You need to send me via email  to tampatha01@gmail.com some samples of your work or a link to your blog as well as a short blurb about yourself

Highlights - Challenge #231 - Floral Prints

Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for joining in our floral prints challenge last week! There were so many beautiful projects to look at. That makes my job of picking a Top 3 very difficult! I would have loved to pick them all, but here are my Top 3...well, Top 4, in no particular order:

I love this pretty pocket letter that Janis made. Every little pocket is a piece of art!

I love the watercolored sentiment on this card.

Love the embossed panel on this card! Such pretty colors, too!

This is the cutest little frog ever, and I love that it is a pop up card!

Thank you all for playing along with us! Be sure to grab your "Featured" button in the right side bar!
