Challenge #218 - Kraft

Hello all - Gail here  This is my first time posting my own challenge.  I hope you can play along with me.

I'd like to see your projects using KRAFT - this could be paper, cardstock or the colour Kraft.

Here are my two projects for this challenge - a card and a layout.

Now check out these cool projects from the other Design Team members.

Love this for a vintage page background.
Mine is the oldie but goodie Life Stories line from MME

I used the new Tim Holtz dies "Wildflowers" and embossed my craft background. For more texture I added some die cuts (Tim Holtz Mixed media Thinlits) from my stash.

I colored the flowers with Distress Ink and added Perfect PearlsMist "Biscotti" for a fine shimmer.

The word stamp is from Rubber Dance Stamps.

Sarah

I loved this challenge - I used the Bella Kraftastic card stock with this gorgeous glittery stars as my background piece. For more details please check out my blog here

I used Monochromatic Style with the stamp set Dandelion Dreams from Skipping Stones Designs. I stamped all my images using Crumb Cake Classic Ink form Stampin Up over the same color of card stock. My sentiment was stamped using VersaFine Onix and Clear Embossing Powder from Imagine Crafts and as final touch I added a few loops and bow with White Bakers Twine.

This week I used Kraft cardstock as the base of the double page layout I created.
I would love for you to stop by my blog to see all the close-ups and how I used some of my stash to create this layout.

Renee
For my project, I chose to use Kraft cardstock as the base for a copic coloring card.  My patterned paper also has a Kraft background.

Trying my hand with a CAS card this week, using Kraft cardstock and a Whitewash Technique.  Stop by my blog to see all the deets and see more pics.  Hope you will play along with us!  Can't wait to see your creations!

Without further delay, here are this week's highlights in no particular order.

I really liked how this card came together and the fact that it was repurposed and created by up cycled materials. Beautiful color combination!

This project was such an amazing use of the tissue paper in a unique way. What a beautiful home decor project!

Lots of great layers and detail work in this card. What a fun and bright spring project to share!

Challenge #217: Tissue Paper

Hi! Khristina here with my first challenge for you as part of the design team. Lately, I have seen such beautiful tissue paper popping up in my local stores and have also noticed several crafters incorporating tissue paper into their projects in new and unique ways. My challenge to you this week is to create a project--card, layout, pocket page, home decor piece, anything... that incorporates tissue paper. I can't wait to see the creative projects that you come up with! For this layout, I used tissue paper in two different ways and I talk all about that on my blog.

Make sure to check out all of the amazing projects from the design team members below and then link your project so we can send some praise your way! Happy Crafting!!

One of the best things to use for adding layers and dimensions in mixed media layouts is just that!
I up-cycled  this houndstooth tissue that came with an order as the base of my shape and foundation, for my mixed media journal page type layout.

Darlene
Using white tissue paper, Ken Oliver color burst & Inkadinkado stamps.

Gail

I added some of this cute kitty tissue paper onto squares and incorporated them onto a card.

If you want to see a layout I did using this same tissue, check out my blog.

I've never used tissue paper on a project before, but now I know how to make tissue paper flowers! Please visit my blog to see all the products I used to make this card.

Hi friends! I would love for your to stop by my blog to have a look at the inside of my card...I snuck in some more tissue paper on the inside.

Tammy C.

What a fun challenge!  It definitely made me step out of my comfort zone and use thing from my stash!  I made an altered acetate panel with tissue paper and alcohol inks.  I hope you will stop by my blog to find out more and to see all the details.

Can't wait to see your fabulous creations!!  We hope you will play along!

Challenge #216 - Pop Dots

Hello! This is Amanda with this week's challenge!

One of the things I have but frequently forget to use are Pop Dots - you know, those little foam squares or circles used to make an item stand out from your project! They are a great way to add dimension to your project! For my project I did a very simple design for a Christmas card using a sketch. I am trying to get ahead for next year! I used a very small pop dot under each star to give them some dimension!

Take a look at what the design team came up with!

Gail

Sarah
I loved this challenge of using pop dots...of my favourite items from my stash to use. In this 'Life' layout I have scrap lifted the hexagon idea from an online site I saw recently, using mixed media elements to create the background and to incorporate the photo. I have raised some of the hexagons with pop dots as well as the quote next to the title. For more details, please check out my blog at www.myscrappingspace.wordpress.com

What a great challenge to inspire us to Use Your Stuff!  Pop dots can add such a nice change to your projects.  I jut love the dimension it gives.  I tried to keep it simple this week... with a CAS card using Heartfelt Creations Fiddle'n Frog stamps.  Please stop by my blog to see all the details.

Show us your creations!

Challenge # 215 - Inspired by a Quote

Hello All! Tammy here with this week's challenge.  Spring is almost upon us..the season of new beginnings, fresh happenings and yes, a time to be excited and inspired!

My challenge for you this week is to create a project inspired by a quote!  You don't have to put the quote on your project but you do need to let us know what it is! :)

I don't exactly have a project for you this week myself.  Over the weekend of March 19/20 I attended Crop & Create along with some of the amazingly talented individuals behind Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine (who is celebrating their 10 birthday!  Stop by their blog for some fun birthday celebrating and to wish them a Happy Birthday!) ~ one of which is the highly talented Vicki Boutin!

She is an inspiring individual both as a crafter and just as a wonderful person to know!  I wanted to share with you the make and take that she did with us last night, highlighting the MINC machine...

Herea are the quotes that inspired the DT this week!   Enjoy and play along with us!

I created a journal page with my quote
"Your Eyes are the Windows to Your Soul"
Immanuel Kant

Khristina

I really loved this challenge of incorporating a quote and there were SO many that I wanted to use and try in different ways. One of my favorite ways to incorporate a quote into my layouts is to create a bold title. Using a variety of text styles, sizes, and dimensions is a great way to create a unique visual look with a lot of eye appeal. If you want to see close-ups or learn more about this layout, please visit my blog. I can't wait to see how you incorporate quotes into your projects this week!

Darlene
So many wonderful quotes available to create with today.
I found this one on a 12x12 sheet of 7Gypsies designer paper and it spoke to me!

Gail

There's no better feeling than laughing and being silly with your sister.

Julia

My layout is all about learning to unwind and just let go of my type A personality on occasion. Even squirrels and bunny's will slow down on occasion just to watch us....
More close-ups are on my blog.

Lori
I'm not sure if mine is considered a quote or more of a sentiment, but I love it just the same. What better way to brighten someone's day than to tell them how much they mean to you!

I love this little stamp I got a couple of years ago... it always makes me smile so I choose to use it on the card I made for this challenge.
