Challenge #21 - Photo Inspiration

Hello All. Bronwyn here.Welcome to another Monday at Use Your Stuff. While spending way too much time on Pinterest, I came across this lovely picture of felt and fabric hearts. Right away I was drawn to the colour combination and the hand-made quality of the little hearts. I knew this had to be the challenge for this week.

CHALLENGE - Use this photo as starting off point for your creation. Think colour, shape, texture - whatever inspires you.

Hear is my take. I used the pink, red and turquoise colour combination, the heart shapes and the stitching.

Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!!

Joy
I thought I was the only one with paper left in my stash of this old paper line!
I made a double page 6x6 layout this week. I think these will go in my project life album.

Lynne

I decided to be a bit whimsical. I had this old Imaginisce line of papers that the had the perect colors. Ithen added a few nicely places hearts. These are a couple of scrapper friends from my local scrap group.
I look forward to seeing who else jumps int this challenge.

Barb
I was inspired by the colours in the photo. It's not often that I get to use more girly colours so I really enjoyed working on this one.

Like Lynne, I'm looking forward to seeing what others come up with for this challenge. Don't forget to link it up to this thread so we can check it out.

Featured Project - challenge 19

Chek out this layout that was submitted by Helen for Challenge #19 - Line it Up and Stretch it Out.

I love how Helen used both the photos and the the decorative trim to move your eye across the page. Great job on this Helen and thanks for playing along.

Go visit Helen's blog: Never Enough Time and leave her a comment to let her know you were there ... and while you're there, why not become a follower of her blog so you can continue to be inspired by her work.

Challenge #20 die cuts and tags

Hey there UYS peeps.

Welcome back, it's time for another challenge and this week I want you to....
use your die cuts and tags. You may have some sticker sheets hanging around from paper collection packs those qualify for this too. Dig into your stuff and find those die cuts.

I grabbed a bunch of die cuts and randomly covered the background on this layout and created a tone on tone look with lots of texture.

I can't wait to see how you're going to use your die cuts.

Happy Crafting!

Lynne

I don't have a die cut machine, so I have to rely on precut, store-bought die cuts. I used flowers and the scallop border from some old stash that has been hanging around forever. I can't even tell you which set it was. Just don't throw anything away as sooner or later it will match something. Just enjoy your scrappy time. There is always some treasure to unearth in your stash.

Bronwyn Here! Gosh I love using my stuff up! There's no guilt in buying anything new if you make sure you use up old stuff, right??

For this layout, I use an title diecut from WeRMemory Keepers and some diecut stars from October Afternoon.

Barb

OK, I'm a little late to this party! Sorry about that. I really think life should have a hold buttone.
Here's my layout for this challenge. All the die cuts were made with my cricut. The photos were put into a collage using Picasa - love that programme!!

Challenge #19 Line it Up and Stretch it Out

Good Monday morning everyone. How are your creative projects going? Are you like me and enjoy these winter months - staying cozy inside and getting lots done? I'm always more motivated at this time of the year.

Our challenge this week is to line it up and stretch it out.
I'm a very linear scrapbooker so this challenge keeps me in my comfortzone. Line it up ... your photos, embellishments, page elements, whatever you wish. Just line them up ... and thenstretch it out - across your page - across two pages. If cards are your thing, then keep it long and lean.
Let's see you s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

I did a layout for this challenge:

Joy
Okay Barb I'm all lined up and stretched out.

Bronwyn :

Here is mine! I love 2-page LOs so this was right in my comfort zone, too!
I used all 4x6 photos and S_T_R_E_T_C_H_E_D them in 2 long rows. To emphasize the length, I added some long lines of ric-rac and down the edges of the vertical row of photos I used up a hundred itty-bitty word stickers as a little frame.

Lynne

I like to do horizontal 8.5 x 11 layouts so I stretched the photos clear across the entire LO.
I even stitched together some photos to make it panoramic.

Challenge #18 - White + One

Hi everyone! Bronwyn here. It's time for another new challenge here at Use Your Stuff.

Here is a challenge that sounds easy on the surface, but I found, once I got started, that it was VERY hard to stick to!

Your Challenge: Use only White and ONE other colour!!

I love colour. I love pattern. Sticking to white + one was tricky, but I managed this:

(The green border looks like another colour of cardstock border, but actually it is the wall that I used as background for my photo!)

No patterned paper here -only 2 sheets of cardstock, my paper punches and a few stickers from Echo Park (and a cute little picture of my little lady!)

Joy

I always find working with white hard, I really don't use it as is very often in large amounts.
I tried stamping white one white, you can't see is very well in pictures. In person it's subtle but visible.
I chose brown as my +one.....and used a dark and a light shade.

a bit of detail
I broke out some micro breads, twine and some paper that's been
sitting in my stash quite a while for this weeks challenge.

Barb
Well, I'm a little late to the party, but at least I made it.
I loved this challenge. I love the look of tone on tone. This week I even found this inspirational site about using white plus one : White With One so if you love this look too and want some further inspiration, you gotta check it out.
Ok, on to my layout:

We want to welcome the newest member of our Use Your Stuff team, Bronwyn. Bronwyn has been on the design team at  The Scrapping Bug and I've always been very impressed with her creativity. She never ceases to inspire me, so I was very excited to have her come aboard our challenge team. I know that you will love her work as much as we do.

here's a little about Bronwyn:

Hi.  I am a happily married mother of three - 2 boys and one girl, and a full-time primary music teacher.  In my free time , which I always plan into my day, I love to be creative.  Sometimes I spend my time decorating my home, other times I knit, sew or crochet and, as often as I can- I adore paper crafting.  I am usually a a layout girl, but recently I have tried my hand at cards and home decor projects.   I love to mix patterned papers and I always add texture with ribbons and buttons.  My favourite scrapbooking item has to be foam pop-dots.  I use them in everything I create!  I am very excited to be joining UYS and I can't wait to get started on some challenges!
Welcome aboard Bronwyn!

We're still looking for one more member for our team. If you're interested, you can find the details HERE
