Challenge #73 - Summer

I don't know about you, but here in Ontario we are deep in the middle of winter and we've had more than our fair share of snow. I'm starting to think ahead to summer and start making our summer vacation plans so I thought a Summer project might be just what I needed.

This week's challenge is to do a summer themed project. Anything that makes you think of summer and the warm days ahead.

Milena
This is a scrapbook page I did of my daughters at the beach. I can't wait to get the beach again soon.

Lynne

I too did a layout of the beach, but because it was my birthday weekend in early June and not quite warm enough to enjoy the beach in a bathing suit, I did a layout of me and my daughters enjoying the beach spot sans bathing suit.

Wow! Am I every behind this week. The funny thing is that I've had this layout done for a week and I'm just getting around to getting it uploaded.
So my layout is of a cruise we took a year ago with my sister and her husband.

Challenge #72 All in the Family

Welcome back!

It's the third Monday in February and that means it's Family Day here in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan. To celebrate the importance of family today I was thinking the challenge would be just that.

Document something about your family or a special relationship like brothers, sisters, cousins or your spouse. Those of you that like to make cards why not make a card for father's day, mother's day or work in the family theme.

Have fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with :)

I love these three beings in my life

Milena
This was a good challenge for me. I often scrapbook about my children and their relationship with each other and my relationship with them but I don't often scrapbook about my husband and best friend.

Lynne

Recently, I helped myself to a photo my sister-in-law posted on Facebook of my nephew and his son.  It was such a wonderful picture I knew I had to scrap it.  This weeks challenge was perfect for this picture.

My layout is of an evening we spent with my sister and her husband while we were on vacation.

#71 Winter Wonderland

Happy Monday everyone. What a week it was last week with the big winter storm that blew through much of the Eastern Canada and United States. I don't know about you, but I love winter and I love winter storms so we were all happy around here when the storm hit. So, in honour of the storm, this weeks challenge is a theme challenge and the theme is, you guessed it, Snow. Use snow as your theme for your project. I created this layout of our day on Friday when we were out shovelling the snow out of the driveway.

Lynne
I followed Barbara's lead and took pictures last Friday night at the beginning of the
Storm of the Century and Saturday after the storm ended.

Milena

It's great to be here. I'm really looking forward to challenging myself!
I love snow pages. Winter is my favourite season.
My photos are from a storm a couple of years ago. There's nothing quite like a good romp in the snow to tire children out!!

Saying Good Bye and Saying Hello

Today we're saying good-bye to one of our Creative Contributors, Bronwyn. Bronwyn has been a part of our team for about a year and a half now, and we've enjoyed working with her and loved seeing her work. As life has been pulling her in different directions, she's been finding there just isn't enough hours in the day to juggle it all. Thank you, Bronwyn, for all you've contributed to this blog and for all your inspiring work.

We also say hello to our new team member, Milena. Milena is a wife and mother of two wonderful girls. Her creative endeavours mostly involve scrapbooking. I know she's looking forward to sharing her challenges and participating in the other challenges as well. Please visit her blog, A Peek Into My Life to read more about her and to see her work ... and while you're there, let her know how happy we are to have her join us.

Color Challenge #70 Red, Pink and one more!

HI everyone, Lynne here.  Welcome to Challenge #70.  It has been a while since I have posted a color challenge, and with Valentine's Day approaching, I figured it was a perfect time.   So my challenge to you is to use Red, Pink and one other color of your choosing.  If you want to make even more interesting, try to use those colors on something NOT related to Valentine's Day.

This is a photo of my youngest daughter with my mother-in-law in 1996.  I thought the colors lent themselves beautifully to the feel of the occasion.  The title is a Guatemalan Proverb found on Quote Garden.  This is one of my 'go-to' sites for titles and inspiration.

I hope you have fun with this challenge.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Joy
I been in a Valentines mode since last week, so I made a cards this week for my nieces.
The colour combo worked perfectly for me. I used the same design on the first card as last week.
So I guess I kinda cheated ;-)

Barb

Once again, I'm a little late to the party.
I very rarely use any pink in my projects, so it was a bit of a challenge for me. I decided to do a project focused on my 25th wedding anniversary.
